I'm joining and no one can stop me. No one! I love this store. I want to live there. I want to work there. I want to be there all the time. But at last Backspace has stolen a piece of me as well. So I shall post something bookish sometime in the near future.

For those who know, does anyone know the difference between the "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" and the "Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy"? I want to read the book so that I know what the big hoopla is about it.

The Biggest-Ever Literary Festival Needs Volunteers

Join the fun at Wordstock, Portland's Annual Festival of the Book, and help support Oregon schools. We need your help at the Wordstock Book Fair (Oregon Convention Center, Saturday and Sunday, April 23-24, 2005), where hundreds of national and regional authors will share and discuss their works with Pacific Northwest book lovers of every stripe. Even better -- proceeds from Wordstock support writing programs in Portland-area schools. For more info, visit http://www.wordstockfestival.com and click on 'get involved.' Don't forget to tell your friends, too!

Book Posters in Windows [Sep. 29th, 2004|04:55 pm]
Powell's Book Store(s)

[mood |curiouscurious]

Ya know the large poster-size book covers that line all the windows at Powell's? Sometimes they're poster material, sometimes they're thicker material...but they're usually a decent size. I've noticed that they change what's in the windows occasionally, so...what does Powell's do with these posters? Throw them away, give them away, sell them?
